Why does Mixed run a single balanced number?

SPS wants alkalinity low and tight; LPS wants it high and steady. A tank running both doesn't get the benefit of chasing either extreme — instead, Mixed sits at a middle target that keeps SPS from drifting too high and gives LPS enough buffer without pushing it into SPS-unsafe territory.

It's not a compromise that shortchanges either coral type — it's a deliberate single target built for exactly this situation, so you're not trying to average two other salts yourself.

How much Mixed salt do I need for my tank?+

35.0 grams per liter of RODI water at 1.025 S.G. For an exact figure based on your tank volume and water change size, the Quantum dosing app will calculate it for you.

Should I use Mixed instead of SPS or LPS salt?+

Only if your tank genuinely runs both coral types in meaningful numbers. If your reef is dominated by one type with just a few of the other, the dedicated SPS or LPS salt will still serve the majority of your tank better.

Do I still need Step 3 and Step 4 supplements?+

Yes. The salt sets your baseline alkalinity and calcium at every water change, but a growing reef consumes both between changes — Step 3 Aragonite Enhancers and Step 4 Bio-Active Color Intensifiers top that up.

What's in the included ICP report?+

Each bag or bucket includes a batch-specific ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma) report — the mix-to values for calcium, alkalinity, magnesium and potassium for that exact batch, plus the full trace element panel from the natural seawater base. Tested in-house before the batch ships.
