Too little fades color, too much feeds algae

Iron is a balancing act

Too little iron and green corals turn pale and dull. Too much, and you risk algae issues — including the kind of blooms that get out of hand fast. Bio-Metals is designed to hold iron in a tight, safe range: ionic and complexed metals are immediately bioavailable, while the chelated portion provides a steady, ongoing supply so you're not constantly re-dosing.

Bio-Metals is one part of a coordinated four-product series. Bio-Enhance, Bio-Gen, and Bio-Kalium round out the required biomolecules and major, minor, and trace coloring elements — using just one leaves the others under-supplied.

Deionized water plus bioactive metals (iron, manganese, and trace metals).

Use as a team

Must be used alongside Bio-Enhance, Bio-Gen, and Bio-Kalium for the full coloring element profile.

Directions

Shaking isn't required, though inverting 3–4 times helps if it's been sitting a while. Add to high water flow; safe on a dosing pump.

Reef aquariums only

Formulated for reef tanks with coral, not general saltwater setups.

Monitor iron closely

Keep iron within 0.1–0.3ppm. This is a narrower margin than most Step 4 elements — excess iron is a common driver of unwanted algae.

Questions about this product

Do I need all four products in the series?+

Bio-Gen, Bio-Kalium, Bio-Metals, and Bio-Enhance are formulated to be dosed together, matching the typical uptake ratios in coral. Using just Bio-Metals will address green and yellow color, but leaves the other coloring elements unsupplied.

Why does iron need tighter control than other elements?+

Excess iron is a well-known trigger for nuisance and bloom-forming algae, so its target range (0.1–0.3ppm) is narrower and worth monitoring more closely than some of the other Step 4 elements.

Can I use this on a dosing pump?+

Yes — this product is safe to use with an automatic dosing pump.
