More than a color boost

Halogens do double duty in reef tanks

Iodide, fluoride, and bromide intensify white, blue, and violet coral color — but that's not all they do. They also help reduce coral bleaching, improve calcification, and act as antioxidants that support your coral's natural resistance. Bio-Gen is also beneficial for macroalgae growth, the "good" algae you actually want in a reef system.

Bio-Gen is one part of a coordinated four-product series. Bio-Enhance, Bio-Metals, and Bio-Kalium round out the required biomolecules and major, minor, and trace coloring elements — using just one leaves the others under-supplied.

What's in the bottle

Deionized water plus iodide, fluoride, and bromide.

Use as a team

Must be used alongside Bio-Enhance, Bio-Metals, and Bio-Kalium for the full coloring element profile.

Directions

Shaking isn't required, though inverting 3–4 times helps if it's been sitting a while. Add to high water flow; safe on a dosing pump.

Reef aquariums only

Formulated for reef tanks with coral, not general saltwater setups.

Monitor iodine

Keep total iodine concentration within 0.06–0.09ppm — over-dosing halogens can cause issues just like under-dosing.

Do I need all four products in the series?+

Bio-Gen, Bio-Kalium, Bio-Metals, and Bio-Enhance are formulated to be dosed together, matching the typical uptake ratios in coral. Using just Bio-Gen will address white, blue, and violet color, but leaves the other coloring elements unsupplied.

Will this help with coral bleaching?+

Supplementing iodide, fluoride, and bromide has been shown to help reduce coral bleaching, in addition to boosting calcification and coral color.

Can I use this on a dosing pump?+
