Freshwater Essential® Phosphate Remover Pro™ is expertly formulated to eliminate both ionic and chemically bound phosphate in freshwater aquariums, significantly aiding in the removal of nuisance algae that can affect aquatic life. Phosphate commonly exists in two forms: ionic phosphate and phosphate chemically bound by calcium. This dual existence can lead to fluctuations in general hardness (GH) and result in misleadingly low phosphate readings, as most test kits are incapable of detecting bound phosphate accurately. Standard media and carbon sources are effective at removing ionic phosphate, yet they often require extended periods to adequately address the more stable, bound phosphate.
Freshwater Essential® Phosphate Remover Pro™ addresses this challenge by precipitating both forms of phosphate and capturing them in the existing filter wool or socks for easy removal. This product has been carefully adapted from our Reef Essential® AR Phosphate Remover™ to meet the specific needs of freshwater aquariums, acknowledging the distinct environmental differences between marine and freshwater systems. Shaking is not required. Add directly into high water flow. For accurate dosing, the dosing formula is total volume of aquarium and external filter minus all media, rock, ornaments, etc. that occupies volume. This product can be used on a dosing pump.
